Provincial Team Prep Sessions

Are you a high achieving athlete who has dreams of playing for a Nova Scotia provincial team? Come join our 4 day Provincial Team Prep Sessions that will help refine your skills and prepare you for tryouts!

What are the Provincial Team Prep Sessions?

In preparation for the upcoming provincial team tryouts, athletes will participate in skill development sessions for a chance to refine their skills and also create a toolbox of drills and skills to work on at home.

  • Format: 2 sessions per day, 4 days. Athletes will have the chance to participate in 2-8 sessions, depending on their availability.
  • Cost: Athletes can register for one day or more than one day @ $25/day (2 sessions per day). *Subsidies are available. Please contact for more details.*
  • Who?: Females and males interested in trying out for U15, U17 or U18 provincial teams.
  • To Register – Complete the waiver form and video/picture release form before you Register here. *NOTE: Athletes will need to bring their own basketball. If an athlete does not have access to a basketball or forgot one, there will be some extra available.*

Are these sessions considered tryouts for the provincial teams? No, these prep sessions are not tryouts for the provincial teams. They are skill development sessions to prepare athletes for provincial team tryouts.

If I am not planning to tryout for the provincial teams, can I still attend the sessions? Yes. The sessions can be helpful for athletes who want to develop their skills. The sessions will be focused towards higher level experienced and competitive athletes.

Who will be leading the sessions? BNS Technical Director Colter Simmonds along with guest coaches.

If I don’t attend the sessions, am I still able to tryout for a provincial team? Yes. The sessions are for the sole purpose of developing athletes’ skills and preparing them for higher levels of competition.

Do I need to bring me own basketball? Yes. Athletes are required to bring their own basketball. If an athlete does not have access to their own basketball or forgot one, there will be some extra available.
