Seeding requirements (What you must submit)
BNS recognizes that securing seeding games can be difficult. Budget, travel, facility availability, weather, and scheduling all create real constraints. To keep things equitable across the membership, seeding requirements have been set as follows.
Each team must submit:
NOTE: We recognize some clubs face geography constraints and have fewer options to schedule out of region games. Seeding is a shared responsibility across the province. When clubs can support one another by scheduling an out of region matchup, it strengthens the seeding process for everyone
**Unreadable or incomplete scoresheets will not be accepted.
Roster integrity and limited exceptions
Seeding games must reflect the team that will compete at Provincials.
If an athlete misses one seeding game due to illness or injury, the team may request an exemption (see below process for submitting exemption). Approval is required.
How to request an exemption
On the seeding submission form for each scoresheet upload, use the first line under ‘Game Notes’ to note the athlete's name and the reason (illness or injury). The Seeding Committee will confirm approval or denial by email reply.
Why BNS needs this
If an impact player misses a game, it can affect results and placement decisions. The roster and impact of each player affect the team's play level and game outcomes. BNS needs visibility for accurate seeding. We also recognize the travel, time, and cost that families take on to attend Provincials. Nobody wants to invest in a weekend that turns into lopsided games. Strong seeding data helps us create competitive brackets and a better championship experience for everyone.
