The public expression of interest form is now open for the 2025 Canada Games Women in Coaching Apprentice Program.
The Women in Coaching Canada Games Apprenticeship Program is a partnership between the Team Nova Scotia, the Canada Games Council (CGC), and the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC). This program provides the opportunity for each province and territory to send two female coaches to the Canada Games in apprenticeship roles, for a total of 26 apprentice coach opportunities across the country. The purpose of the Canada Games Apprenticeship Program is to provide women coaches with the experience of attending a major national multi-sport games and the opportunity to acquire further coach education in the coaches chosen sport. Many of the graduates from this program have gone on to coach Provincial, University and Canada Games teams following the program.

Selected coaches have direct involvement in preparation and competition and receive support from an identified mentor coach throughout the duration of the program. They will also become part of a national community of practice that includes the other participants from across the country and attend Sport Leadership in November 2024for an in person professional development session and the national conference. All costs associated with participation in this program will be looked after by the Province of NS as part of our investment into promoting women in coaching..
Interested coaches can complete the Expression of Interest form. Selection of the coaches from NS will take place in January 2024.
