BNS Board of Directors now accepting applications

The Board of Directors of Basketball Nova Scotia (BNS) is currently accepting submissions for (3) Board positions for a 2-year term beginning in the fall of 2026, with the option of renewal. We are particularly seeking members with marketing/communication and business backgrounds.  

 

BNS is committed to building a Board which represents the diversity of the communities we serve. Gender equity as well as regional representation is a key consideration for Board selection. Please note out of area Board members are compensated for travel. 

 

Individuals interested in seeking election to the Board of Directors are asked to complete the below submission form. The BNS Board of Directors is a Governance/Advisory Board.

The Board approved a five-year strategic plan in 2025 with a priority on strong governance. The organization is excited to implement its new vision for basketball in Nova Scotia and is looking for members who share this commitment and enthusiasm to help take part in implementing this strategy. 

 

Members of the Board are required to attend Board meetings (4-5 per year, both in person and virtual), sit on at least one of the Board's committees, and support BNS events and initiatives where possible throughout the year.
