Basketball Nova Scotia Now Accepting Provincial Team Coach Applications

Oct. 01, 2025

Halifax, NS

Basketball Nova Scotia (BNS) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for head and assistant coach positions with our Provincial Teams for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

Each year, Canada Basketball hosts the National Championships for provincial and territorial U15 and U17 teams. Nova Scotia has proudly fielded teams for over 25 years, and BNS is committed to building on this tradition through strong programming, consistent leadership, and a focus on coach development.

As part of this commitment, BNS is seeking coaches who are prepared to make a two-year commitment to the program, with the potential for a third year. Coaches will undergo an annual review process that includes self-assessment, athlete and parent surveys, and feedback from BNS staff. This ensures accountability, growth, and alignment with the high standards of our program.

The 2026 National Championships will take place August 2-9, with the girls’ competition hosted in Sherbrook, QC and the boys’ competition in Regina, SK.

Key Dates:

  • Application Deadline: October 10, 2025

  • Interviews: Weeks of October 13 and October 20, 2025

  • Tryouts: Tentatively scheduled for the weekends of November 15-16 and November 22-23, 2025

Coaches selected will play an integral role in shaping the experience and development of Nova Scotia’s top athletes as they compete on the national stage.

Interested applicants are invited to complete the official Coach Application Form.
